Real time sharing Google map route.

We know that when Google doc is shared, we can see the document getting edited if anyone is doing so, in real time.

This got me into thinking, can we introduce the ability to see Google maps also in a similar manner ?

This can help people to explain others in real time, not just in guiding to the destination but helps in suggesting different paths to have a look at relatives, favorite places, restaurants, etc. on the way to destination.

The point is to get to the destination in most comfortable manner with respect to time/feelings.

Something like the helper fellow shares the url, and modifies the path to the destination which gets displayed to the others who are viewing the url. Isn't it a cool idea..?

Addition to the concept:
Lets make it more social. More people editing the route in real time. Each person knows a path that's best to take. Now together they will built the route based on requirements to explore or reach in shortest time. This could be a great help for explorers around the world. Wherever they don't know, they can still follow the route provided by Google maps.
